MESA, Ariz. – Three suspected illegal immigrants were arrested by Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies for allegedly using false identification to work at a local business.
Deputies arrested three individuals at three separate locations in Mesa Tuesday morning. All three were employed at Bowman Brothers Concrete but are accused of using false identification to work in the United States.
Detectives say they received information from a force that the concrete company had hired five illegal immigrants who had provided false documentation to the company.
MCSO was initially looking for 23 alleged offenders but the original company under investigation went out of business before deputies could finish their investigation.
“I will continue to enforce all the laws of this state. Last month the Supreme Court upheld the Arizona Employer Sanctions Law, which penalizes businesses for knowingly hiring workers who are here illegally,” Sheriff Joe Arpaio said.
MCSO has arrested about 550 illegal immigrants while enforcing the employer sanctions laws.
Sheriff Joe says he plans to conduct another crime suppression sweep in Phoenix very soon but did not provide a specific date.
