NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona border officials say no unaccompanied child immigrants apprehended in Texas remain at a Nogales facility.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol Agent Bryan Flowers said Wednesday that there are no longer any unaccompanied minors, apprehended in South Texas, at the holding center.

Flowers says a "small number" of children who were apprehended in the Tucson Sector are still there.

According to Flowers, no additional immigrants are currently scheduled to arrive.

Flowers says the center will remain in place as a possible resource for expediting immigration processing.

Border Patrol officials say the Nogales location is being phased out as the agency gets a better handle on the problem.

More than 1,000 children were flown and bused from south Texas after border agents there became overwhelmed.
