PHOENIX -- Police are trying to determine if drug trafficking was involved in a home invasion that left one man dead.

Drug trafficking involved?

Three men -- Manual Trejo, Daniel Saenz and Rodolfo Lopez -- are in custody in the case. They're all facing charges of first-degree murder.

Early on, police thought they were looking for just one more suspect. They spent much of Monday morning searching a Phoenix neighborhood for that man. Now investigators think they have up to three suspects on the loose.

The victim has been identified as Andrew Williams. He was found dead inside his home near 83rd Avenue and Encanto.

Police believe the suspects fired upwards of 100 rounds.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness.

ORIGINAL REPORT

PHOENIX -- Police spent much of Monday morning canvassing the neighborhood of Seventh Street and McDowell Road for a suspect in a deadly home invasion.

It all started at 83rd Avenue and Encanto Boulevard just before 11 p.m. Sunday when four men in full body armor broke into a home and shot and killed a man.

Investigators said as many as 100 rounds were fired before those suspects, who were possibly posing as police officers, took off.

Officers caught up with three of the suspects when they ditched their truck in the area of Seventh Street just north of McDowell Road, but the fourth got away. Police spent much of the morning in that area searching for that suspect.

At one point, officers found what appeared to be a gun holster on a roof.

Three suspects are in custody in connection with the deadly shooting.

Police said this does not appear to have been a random incident.
