Traffic diverted to Riggs Road.

CHANDLER -- A fatal collision involving a commerical vehicle closed eastbound I-10 at milepost 172 for much of the morning.

Two people are dead and a third injured in the accident.

According to the Department of Public Safety, two people in a passenger-size SUV were killed.

The driver of the commercial vehicle was injured in the accident, but it is unknown what type of injuries he sustained.

Traffic was diverted to Riggs Road during the closure, whicy lasted from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

DPS has said there was no hazardous material involved.

No names are being released until next of kin of the victims have been notified.
