Concern for kids

MESA -- Police in Mesa are searching for a Valley mom who allegedly kidnapped her two children after attacking her ex-husband.

Investigators said Scott Ellis called police yesterday morning and told them his ex-wife, Anna Ellis, attacked him with pruning shears at his home.

When police tried to contact Anna, they discovered that she had taken her two daughters, Paige and Brynne, out of school. The three have not been seen since.

Police are concerned that Anna Ellis (top) might harm her daughters, Brynne (left) and Paige (right).

While Anna, 37, does have sole custody of the girls, Scott believes she might hurt them.

According to police, Anna takes medication for a mental illness, but they're not sure if she has it with her. They also said she has access to weapons.

Ellis was last seen driving a black 2008 Honda Pilot with the Arizona license plate 771-VRH.

Ann is a white female with blonde hair and blue eyes. She's 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighs about 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Paige, 10, has blonde hair and green eyes. She's 4 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs 90 pounds.

Brynne, 9, has blonde hair and blue eyes. She's 4 feet 5 inches tall, and weights 85 pounds.

Police said they have probable cause to arrest Anna for aggravated assault and felony trespassing.

Anyone who might know where Anna, Paige and Brynne are should contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211.
