CHINO VALLEY - The following is a release from the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office:
On September 20, 2008 at approximately 3:20 PM the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single vehicle quad injury accident that had occurred south of Seligman, Arizona. Units from the Sheriff’s Office, Seligman Fire, Lifeline Ambulance and Air Evac were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival of medical personnel it was determined that the lone rider of the quad, 51 year-old Mark W. Ducote, a retired Chino Valley Fire District Captain, was deceased from his injuries. Investigation by responding deputies indicated that Mr. Ducote was hunting and had been northbound on Forest Road 731 approximately 3.5 miles northwest of Williamson Valley Road, west of Paulden, Arizona when he was involved in a single quad rollover accident. Mr. Ducote was found pinned under the quad by other hunters in the area. These hunters summoned help via cell phone and administered CPR until responding medical units arrived.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation and the next of kin has been notified.
