SCOTTSDALE - Unemployment numbers are down in Arizona compared to the rest of the country.
According to the Arizona Department of Commerce we are hovering around 4% while the nation sticks at 5%.
That does not mean we are not losing jobs. Projected job growth for this year in our state stands at negative 0.5%. We are only expected to rebound up 0.1% next year. It can certainly be a scary experience, especially in this unstable economy.
So what can you do if you recently lost your job? Well there is one local company that is helping out.
They come from different professional backgrounds but everyone in the room shares something in common. A group of professionals are now trying to get back into the workforce and for many it is the first time they have been unemployed in years.
Dozens of professionals attended a seminar put on by the Scottsdale Job Network. Christine Vicari is the president.
People looking for work get tips on how to land their dream job even in these tough economic times. The goal at the seminars is to turn the experience into the opportunity of a lifetime.
The next meeting will take place on May 20. For more information you can log on to their website at www.Scottsdalejobnet.com.
