UPDATE 11pm: The man who was the focus of a city wide manhunt all day Wednesday is dead.

Daniel Parasca is believed to be responsible for shooting and killing his estranged wife outside a Valley church this morning.

The Phoenix Fire Department told 3TV they responded to a shooting in the area of 47th Avenue and the Loop 101 in the North Valley and said was related to the murder of the Valley mom in a Phoenix church parking lot earlier Wednesday.

Phoenix police Sgt Stacie Dergie said the suspect was drinking all day with a friend who was unaware of the killing and the day's events. The two were at the Peoria home of a family friend named Angela.

Sgt. Dergie said when the pair arrived at the suspect’s home on West Quail in Glendale they saw police in the area and fled.

During that time Sgt. Dergie said the suspect confessed of the murder to his friend.

They both then drove to 47th Avenue and the Loop 101 where the friend dropped the suspect off and then called police.

As officers arrived, they heard a gunshot and found the suspect inside a run-off water tunnel in the area, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On 12-12-07 the suspect, Daniel Parasca, shot and killed his wife, Gabriela Parasca in the parking lot of 16635 N 51st Ave. Gabriela was in the south entrance of the property in a black Nissan SUV with her two children in the car with her. Daniel pulled into the parking lot and shot several times (from his vehicle) into her SUV hitting her and their 4 year old daughter. Daniel got out of his car and took the two children out of the SUV, putting them into his Mitsubishi Lancer and then he drove from the scene. A short time later he dropped their 4 year old daughter off at a nearby hospital. She had been shot in the knee and has a non-life threatening injury.
