SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Lois Blank likes to watch television.
“I'm a news junkie. I watch a lot of TV. I watch a lot of programs and I like it just to have the noise behind me sometimes,” she said.
But for the past couple weeks, Lois Blank said her TV's been blank because the $400 APEX television she bought just five months ago quit working.
“Just stopped,” she said. “Just plain stopped.”
Blank said she called APEX to see about getting the TV repaired.
After all, it came with a one-year warranty that was still in effect.
Blank said APEX offered to send her shipping labels so she could mail the TV back to them, which isn't exactly an easy task for a 76-year-old woman with arthritis and a bad knee.
Blank said she tried explaining that to APEX but said, like her TV, nothing was happening, so she emailed 3 On Your Side.
“It’s very frustrating,” she said. “Plus, the fact that they are not doing anything! I sent an email. I made phone calls and they haven't contacted me in any way.”
3 On Your Side contacted California-based APEX. They told us they wasn't aware of Blank's physical limitations.
However, after our involvement, APEX sent a repairman to her home soon after to replace her TV’s power supply which seemed to do the trick.

“Thank you very much. I appreciate all the work you did for me. I don't think I would've gotten it fixed had it not been for you,” she said.
