MESA, Ariz. – A high school football player in Mesa is being treated for a neck injury.
Fire crews were called to Mesa High School near Southern Avenue and Gilbert Road at approximately 8 a.m. Monday.
Mesa Fire Department spokesman Forrest Smith said the 14-year-old boy was injured during football practice. Paramedics put the teen on a flat board and transported him to a local hospital.
3TV's Bruce Haffner said it looked like the player was able to move around.
