UPDATE: The concert that was cancelled over the weekend has been rescheduled for next week.

Petty has been suffering a throat and sinus infection, which led him to cancel shows in Phoenix and San Diego.

The new show date is next Thursday, October 7 at the U.S. Airways Center. It will become the final stop on the "Heartbreakers Mojo Tour 2010."

Tickets for Sunday night's show will be honored at the door and there are also still tickets available through Live Nation.

PHOENIX -- Live Nation has announced that tonight’s performance of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers at US Airways Center in Phoenix has been postponed due to illness.

Doctors have advised Tom Petty to not perform due to a throat infection.   None of the remaining dates on the 2010 Mojo Tour have been affected.

The following message is from TomPetty.com:

Unfortunately Tom Petty has developed a throat infection and his doctor has advised him that he shouldn't perform tonight.

As a result we regret to announce that tonight's show at the US Airways Arena in Phoenix, AZ has been postponed. We will have more information soon.

As of now the Phoenix show is the only show impacted.

The band sincerely apologizes to fans who were looking forward to the show tonight or who may be inconvenienced.
