ROMAN POLANSKI - TO BE FREED MONDAY AT THE EARLIEST

GENEVA (AP) — Monday at the earliest. That's when Roman Polanski might be freed from his Swiss jail cell. A spokesman for the Swiss Justice Ministry says Polanski hasn't taken care of all requirements to ensure that he stays in his chalet while on house arrest. Polanski is posting $4.5 million bail so he can stay in his house in Gstaad (guh-SHTAHD'), Switzerland instead of the jail where he's been for about two months. Before he can move to house arrest Polanski has to give up his identity papers, so he can't leave the country, and be fitted with a monitoring bracelet, so he can't leave his house. The Swiss still are deciding whether to extradite him to the United States. Fearing the judge would go back on a plea bargain, Polanski had run from the U.S. before sentencing. He had pleaded to having sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977.

BLACK FRIDAY - CELEBRITIES

Blake Lively loves to go to the stores to shop. Drinking has nothing to do with it. She likes to be in the middle of excitement. SCHOLARSHIP NAMED FOR PATRICK SWAYZE

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Horse lovers who are into the performing arts could have some of their training financed by a scholarship named for Patrick Swayze and his wife. The Arabian Horse Foundation is setting up the scholarship in honor of Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi (NEE'-mee). Both of them owned Arabian horses and competed in shows for several years. The foundation is the charitable arm of the Arabian Horse Association, based in Denver. The foundation's president says the scholarship "creates a lasting testimony to their careers in dancing, theater and movies, love of the Arabian breed and contributions over the years to AHA youth programs." The scholarship will be awarded each spring to a young person involved with Arabian horses who wants a performing arts career. It was launched with a pledge from Iron Horse Farms in Canton, Georgia. Swayze died in September of pancreatic cancer at age 57.
