BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Actor Luis Antonio Ramos is grateful for the chance to play something other than a Latino bad guy in the new TV series "Lucky 7."

Ramos told the Television Critics Association on Sunday that he's become fed up playing a limited range of roles. Then he got the opportunity to play a working-class character on the ABC show.

"Lucky 7" is about a group of New York gas station employees who win a lottery drawing and how their lives change. Ramos' character is a devoted husband and father.

Among the Puerto Rican-born Ramos' credits are TV's "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Burn Notice." He was also in films including "Do the Right Thing" and "Sea of Love," and performed award-winning stage work.

ABC's "Lucky 7" debuts Sept. 24.
