CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A Chandler woman went for a walk and discovered two dogs abandoned in a park.

“They both looked like they had been tethered. One of them had broken through the rope but he did not leave his friend. He stayed there,” said Robyn Miller.

The dogs were matted and dirty.

Next to the pair was an upside down food and water bowl.

“By my best estimate they were there the night before because it had rained. The food that was left was rained on, nothing but mush. Which would indicate to me that they were left there deliberately hoping to be found,” said Miller

Through social media Miller tried finding the dogs a home.

Miller met Nicole Pelke online this week.

“I had Tuesday off so I messaged her. I said, ‘Hey I have today off. Can I come over give them love, bring them treats anything. Thank you for doing this.’ Then I offered to get them groomed because I saw what bad shape they're in,” said Pelke.

Miller and Pelke are now hoping to find the freshly made over dogs a home they can live in together.

The large German Sheppard has been renamed Samson.

The little female dog is now named Delilah.

Miller wants to keep them together because they get anxiety if they’re pulled apart.

Samson barked during our story if he couldn't see Delilah.

The women hope Samson and Delilah’s story encourages others to stop the dog dumping.

“People need to realize that if you know you are going to be in a situation that you can't take care of the dog that there are other options out there,” said Miller.

If you’re interested in adopting the dogs contact Miller or Pelke through the social media links below.
