PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are searching for two suspects wanted in a series of armed robberies over a period of two weeks.
Police said a man and a woman robbed four Subway restaurants, two Domino's Pizza restaurants and a Shell gas station at various hours between Aug. 10 and Aug. 25. They obtained cash at each location.
During the robberies, one suspect entered the business wearing gloves and a bandanna covering his or her face while the other waited in their getaway car.
The suspect pointed a black handgun at the clerks and demanded money from the register.
Police said the female suspect has been assaulting the victims with the gun.
"Even as those employees are complying with her, she is using the gun to strike the employees in the head in an attempt, we believe, to try to speed them up," Sgt. Trent Crump said.
Police are afraid the violence could escalate.
One suspect is described as a white male, 35 to 50 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 180 to 200 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. The other suspect is a white female, 25 to 35 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 115 to 130 pounds.
Police have released photos and surveillance video of the suspects in hopes that someone will recognize them.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department.
