PHOENIX -- Officers found two mangled cars and three injured people on Monday on Interstate 17.
DPS blamed Johnny Bonnie for the accident.
Bonnie was suspected to be impaired and heading the wrong way on the freeway causing the accident.
Bo Molzan's wife and daughter and were in the other car and severely injured.
"My 13-year-old daughter is laying in her bed with a shattered leg, busted wrist," said Molzan.
The husband wants people to know his wife has a brain injury that doctor's can't operate on.
She has to pull through on her own.
They have five kids.
For her privacy he doesn't want to share her name.
"Nothing will beat that woman and she'll buck the odds and show everybody that's the way it is. In my opinion and our families opinion 100 percent she's going to be doing what she does every day," said Molzan.
His wife was taking their 13-year-old daughter to the airport on Monday.
The teenager was going to Washington D.C. for a field trip with friends.
"She wants you all to enjoy your trip, have fun and she's going to be here when you get back," Molzan said.
The father said both women were wearing their seatbelts during the time of the accident.
