MARICOPA, Ariz. -- A home in the city of Maricopa no longer has the nicely manicured backyard that it once had.

A driver accidentally plowed through two cinder block walls and a backyard, narrowly missing 15-year-old Autumn Bawic’s father who was planting ant traps around the walls.

“I was scared. I almost started crying. I said ‘You could’ve died today.  I could have lost you.’  I don’t know what I’d do without my dad. He means so much to me,” said Bawic.

Bawic felt her home shake during the accident.

“All of sudden I hear this boom and then you hear things falling and crumbling,” said Bawic.

Photos taken at the scene showed the driver outside of her car in the park with a smashed car.

The woman lives nearby and told first responders her car’s accelerator got stuck.

“She was saying that her gas (peddle) got stuck. And she couldn’t stop the car, which makes sense. But the amazing part is she missed everything. Yeah she hit both sides of the walls. But she missed the cars, trees, houses.  Either she did some amazing driving or sheer luck,” said neighbor Paul Guerrero.

Neighbors heard the car crash through the cinder blocks that are now spread around the home.

“It’s crazy. You wouldn’t think a little car could make it all the way through two fences and do what it did.  It was certainly lucky for all of us that no one got hurt,” said Tracy Allen.

A mother and her child were riding their bikes on the street and watched the car fly past them.

We’re told this is normally a busy neighborhood.

Bawic’s father is sure to be busy, cleaning up all the mess in his backyard.

“It’s definitely not something you see every day,” said Bawic.
