TOLLESON, Ariz. -- Small blankets for even smaller babies are a top priority for Elizabeth Hunsaker of Tolleson.
“We thought we could help those moms who are losing a baby or having a difficult time with their baby in their in the NICU and so that's kind of why we started,” said Hunsaker.
For the past 16 years Hunsaker has sewn clothes, booties, and blankets for preemies.
She makes clothes with members of her church in Tolleson.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints caught fire Friday.
“I was just thinking of everything is either wet or burned or smoked. I was pretty sad,” said Hunsaker.
The church has been around for many decades, but the building has been updated throughout the years.
The additions to the church made it difficult for crews to fight the fire.
Investigators are spending the weekend looking for the cause of the fire, and arson hasn't been ruled out.
Most of the materials used by Hunsaker to make clothes for the babies burned.
New materials are needed, including sewing machines, yarn, fabric and thread.
