PHOENIX -- Are you your own worst enemy when it comes to being successful in business? Financial expert Sharon Lechter ("Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and "Three Feet From Gold") says you just might be holding yourself back.
"Outwitting the Devil: The Secret to Freedom and Success," which was actually written by Napoleon Hill ("Think and Get Rich") in the late 1930s, will be available in Barnes and Noble and on Amazon.com beginning today.
Because it was considered too controversial by Hill's family and friends, the manuscript was not released until two years ago.
In "Outwitting the Devil," Hill identifies the greatest obstacles we face in trying to reach our goals: fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy. He calls these obstacles tools of the Devil. He also looks at "seven principles of good that will allow us to triumph over them and succeed."
Those principles include definiteness of purpose, mastery of self, learning from adversity, controlling your environment, controlling your time, creating harmony and exercising caution.
Instrumental in the publication of "Outwitting the Devil," Lechter edited and annotated the book for today's audience.
Lechter will be conducting her first local book signing on Wednesday, June 15, 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m., at National Bank of Arizona, 6001 N. 24th St., Phoenix. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
