PHOENIX -- Lianne Peskind and her boyfriend are on the computer a lot.  So Peskind thought it was a no-brainer to buy him an iPad for Christmas.

"So, I said, okay, it's the holidays.  We'll go ahead and I'll get him one," said Peskind.

Peskind said she went to an authorized AT&T dealer in Scottsdale back in December and purchased an iPad.

She said she knew the iPad would probably require some kind of monthly service or fee, and according to Peskind, the monthly amount she was told in the store was within their budget.

"So, we got it.  We were all happy and I paid cash and I have a cash receipt," she said.

Peskind says after plunking down $577 in cash she took the electronic gadget home.

However, after getting the device to the house, Peskind read through some paperwork and was disappointed when she read the fine print.

"When we got home that night, we looked and the monthly fee was just under $39 a month," Peskind explained.

The $39 a month charge was not in the budget, so Peskind took the unused iPad back to the store the very next day and asked for her money back.

Because Peskind had paid cash, the store told her they would have to mail her a check.

However, that was way back in December and every time she asks about that refund she's told it's being processed.

"I'd like to get my money back as soon as possible.  They've had the iPad for over 10 weeks.  I just want them to pay me," she stated.

So 3 On Your Side got involved and asked AT&T to look into the matter.

They did, and Peskind said she immediately got her refund.

It's money she's been waiting on since December.

Peskind said she owes it all to 3 On Your Side.

"I contacted 3 On Your Side. It was resolved in three days. In three days I had my entire refund in cash.  And an apology from the president's office of AT&T. I couldn't have asked for a better or faster result," Peskind said with a big smile on her face.

AT&T never did reveal what the holdup was or why it took nearly three months.

However, they took the matter very seriously after 3 On Your Side brought the issue to their attention and I appreciate their quick resolution.
