PHOENIX -- The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently released its survey that shows more than 25 million consumers fell victim to fraud. That's nearly 11 percent of the US population.
The Internet was the place where consumers most often learned about fraudulent offers. Among the top categories of fraud:
Weight loss products, 5.1 million victims. Prize promotions, 2.4 million victims. Unauthorized billing for Internet services, 1.9 million victims. Credit repair scams, 1.7 million victims.
The survey also found those who did not finish high school were the most likely to have been victims of fraud.
