PHOENIX -- A small mistake in a business website has some consumers asking big questions.
The website is supposed to sell air conditioners and when you go to the site, that's exactly what you see, air conditioners.
But it's the fine print on the website that is raising eyebrows.
Brad Woods is trying to build his own website.
And in the process of looking for some ideas on the internet, he came across the website CheapACUnits.com, so he checked it out.
Brad thought it was strange, and he's right.
Brad said the air conditioning site goes on to say more bizarre things like this:
"When you become a member you're able to contact other members."
Brad said he wasn't quite sure what he stumbled upon. Why would an air conditioning company post such unusual terms?
"So, again, if you're married and you're looking for an inexpensive AC system, they can't offer you the same price if you're single," said Brad.
So Brad contacted 3 On Your Side.
"That's the great part about you guys, at some point you guys are going to contact them and you're gonna get to find out what are you thinking when you put something like that online," stated Brad.
3 On Your Side got a hold of the company's owner who was surprised when we pointed out those strange "terms" for buying an air conditioner.
So he referred us to his web designer.
"I'm glad you pointed it out to us, we got rid of it," said the owner.
Andrew Wheeler designed CheapACUnits.com, and was just as shocked as other consumers when he read the terms he accidentally posted.
Andrew says it was a complete oversight and mixed up different content when he was building CheapACUnits.com
In the end, Andrew says the site definitely sells air conditioners, not relationships.
"It wasn't meant to be, cheap AC units is purely an air conditioning company," Andrew noted.
Well, looks like this is just a fluke, but it's a good reminder that if you have a website make sure it has everything you want it to say and the correct way you want to say it.
