GLENDALE, Ariz -- The Glendale police department is teaming up with Walmart and Cintas Document Management to put on a free document shredding event.

It's going to take place at the Walmart parking lot at 59th ave & Bell on Saturday, April 20 in Glendale.

The shredding begins at 8 a.m. and will last only a few hours. This is something law enforcement agencies from across the country have done in the past. It's very successful.

It’s a great way to get rid of all of your credit card statements, old tax returns, medical bills, bank statements and other sensitive documents that scammers use to steal your identity.

When it comes to identity theft, many times victims don't even know their personal information has been stolen until it's too late. It can be a daunting task to fix and can haunt consumers for years.

Again, it's the Glendale Walmart 59th and bell Saturday morning.
