PHOENIX -- Anyone who has spent at least a summer here in Arizona knows that monsoons can strike in an instant. So, to help you survive financially AAA has a few tips for homeowners and drivers to keep in mind.
First, homeowners should review their insurance policies to make sure they're protected against storm damage. Standard homeowners insurance does not include flood coverage, so double check.
Also, when it comes to automobile insurance, motorists usually need a comprehensive policy to be protected against storm damage. Liability coverage of course does not cover damage from wind, hail or rain.
And drivers don't forget the stupid motorist law. The law allows agencies to collect up to $2,000 for water rescue if drivers get stuck after purposely attempting to drive through flooded areas. Bottom line, save your car and the embarrassment and find an alternative route.
