Looking for a job? 2 events today could help

PHOENIX -- The foundering economy continues to take its toll, but two events today could give you hope if you're one of the 9.1 percent of Arizonans out of work.

Dozens of companies are coming together to fills jobs and put people back to work.

Nearly 70 companies, including Charles Schwab, American Express, Bank of America, DeVry Unuiversity and Shamrock Food Company, will be at the Jobing.com Career Expo. There are openings in a variety of areas such as government, marketing, manufacturing and education.

The event at Jobing.comkicks off at 2 p.m. at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. Pre-event workshops begin at 10:30 a.m.

There's also a job fair at Gateway Community College. That event is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the lower cafeteria of the main building. Gateway is located at 40th and Washington streets in Phoenix.

Both events are free.
