PHOENIX -- It's been quite a week for Denis Chassot.
"Since the story has aired I've heard from Angie's List," said Chassot.
Following our 3 On Your Side report regarding Denis and his complaint against a company called Sound Creations Angie's List got involved and is investigating.
That's because Denis discovered Sound Creations on their website where Matt Florman, the owner, clearly says he was properly licensed to do work.
Denis gave Florman around $3,000 to install security cameras, a vacuum system and surround sound. Matt Florman did show up a few times to do work, but Denis says he soon abandoned the job, leaving his house in disorder.
After our report aired, Angie's List told Denis and 3 On Your Side that they were taking the matter seriously.
"Angie's List had checked into his licensing a little bit further and they couldn't find anything that he's been licensed to do the work he was contracted to do."
Angie's List emailed 3 On Your Side and said: "we have as yet been unable to verify that the company holds an Arizona low voltage communications c-12 license."
But that wasn't the only correspondence 3 On Your Side received regarding Sound Creations and Matt Florman. Turns out, the Arizona Registrar of Contractors says it's also looking into Matt Florman and Sound Creations.
After several attempts to reach Matt Florman he finally called me after seeing himself on 3 On Your Side and said he's had problems, including health issues, and will try to resolve the issue with Denis.
HARPER: "Well, that's not going to happen because you've had six months to work this out."
FLORMAN: "Well, I told him when I got hurt that I would....”
HARPER: "Six months you've been hurt?"
FLORMAN: "No, no, no."
As for Denis, he's optimistic the Registrar of Contractors and Angie's List will do something because right now he's out $3,000 and the job he paid to have done is nowhere near finished.
"As far as the R.O.C. and Angie's List they gonna do what they can that's the only thing in the back of my mind that's keeping me optimistic right now," said Denis.
