PHOENIX -- Beginning Oct. 1 you'll be able to sign up under the healthcare act.
While there has certainly been plenty of debate on this health insurance issue, the Federal Trade Commission is also weighing in.
They are warning consumers that anyone who claims to be able to sign you up before Oct. 1 is trying to scam you. Crooks often try to take advantage of current news events and this is certainly no exception.
With that in mind, you should never give out your social security number or medical information to someone who calls you and says they're from the federal government and claim to be checking on your eligibility for the new health care program.
