PHOENIX -- Shirley Sanders is singing a much different tune now than when 3 On Your Side first told you about her issue a few weeks ago.
"It did some good, and I thank you very much," she said.
Shirley was upset after shelling out $500 to a man named Johnathan Keene, who owns a business called Keene Fabricating.
She hired Keene to replace the chain link fence around where her motorhome once sat.
The fencing was taken down, and a decorative iron gate was to be installed to conceal Sanders' backyard.
"My husband and I, before he had passed away, we had always talked about when we got rid of the motorhome, having it moved back and having a pretty decorative gate put there," she said.
However, Sanders said after she handed Keene $500 to get started on that iron gate, he did nothing and took off with the money.
Keene told 3 On Your Side he would return the money but still hadn't.
So, we went to the address where he claims his business is located, but it turned out to be fictitious.
However, the first 3 On Your Side report was enough to tighten the screws on Keene.
"His wife finally came over and said that she would pay me," Sanders said. "She brought me $300 two weeks ago, and then she brought me the other $200 Friday."
Sanders says she couldn't have gotten it done without 3 On Your Side.
"I'm glad it's over. My goodness, this has been going on since February. I just thank Channel 3," she said.
