PHOENIX-- 3 On Your Side has an important consumer alert regarding the deed to your property.

We warned you six months ago about a company mailing out a document resembling a bill for $83. For $83, the company claims it will provide homeowners with a copy of the deed to their home. However, homeowners can get their deed from the county themselves, usually for less than $5.00.

Now, according to Pinal County authorities a very similar letter is making its way around their area and it's confusing homeowners. Pinal County is warning people not to be alarmed if they get the notice and not to be pressured into mailing in the $83.

Real estate experts say you received your deed at your closing and really don't need it because your deed is on file with the county where the property is located.
