Engineer fire confined to Camp Navajo

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Crews are working to have a wildfire burning near Flagstaff contained sometime Friday.

The Engineer fire was reported around noon on Thursday and has charred more than 800 acres.

The wildfire is located about a mile south of I-40 on Camp Navajo, an Army National Guard base in Bellemont.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

No evacuations have been ordered. The flames were threatening various military equipment on the base.
