PHOENIX -- Batter up! It's opening day for our Arizona Diamondbacks, and baseball fever is in full swing.
On Monday's Good Morning Arizona, Scott Pasmore was live at Chase Field, talking to fans and players about the face-off between the D-Backs and the St. Louis Cardinals. The first pitch is set for 7:10 pm.
3TV's Tyler Baldwin talked to Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill about the upcoming season. "Anytime you have a good year, or even put on a uniform, there are expectations," says Hill. "So to live up to those, is really trying to simplify things. Not to reproduce what you did the previous year, but really being the best that you are that year and in that moment."
It's just not a ball game without snacks! We talked to Diamondbacks Executive Chef Michael Snoke about the new food items offered this season that are sure to be fan favorites. You'll find some classic dishes, as well as healthier choices like the edamame sandwich. "It's edamame, hummus, with sun dried tomatoes, cucumber, and it's served on a pretzel baguette," Snoke explains. "It's a nice vegan option for folks. We have a nice vegetarian option, which is a portobello mushroom wrap."
Speaking of what's new this season, we also peeked into the team shop to see all the new goodies fans can pick up for the game. "It's a brand new year and we've got some brand new gear for the fans," says Special Projects VP Graham Rossini. Don't miss the Bleacher Babe T-shirts, and other gear for the female fans. "We sell more women's merchandise than any other team in Major League Baseball," Rossini told Scott.
And the Home Opener experience wouldn't be complete without some antics from D-Backs mascot, Baxter. He joined April Warnecke at the pool to help deliver a gorgeous and warm opening day forecast.
