PHOENIX – A jury is deadlocked in the case of a dump truck driver charged with killing four motorcyclists over a year ago.
A jury is deadlocked in the case of Michael Jakscht, 48, accused of crashing his truck into a group of motorcyclists on the Carefree Highway in March of last year.
Four motorcycle riders were killed and several others were severely injured.
Investigators said Jakscht was high on methamphetamine at the time of the crash.
Jakscht testified during the trial, blaming a diet pill he had taken the night before the fatal crash. The defense also argued the dump truck had defective brakes.
