PHOENIX — Over the past year, Silicon-Valley-based Tesla Motors, Inc. has gotten a lot of attention with its all-electric sports car -- the Roadster -- which retails for $109,000 Roadster.
The two-door Roadster is currently the only Tesla model on sale at the company's 10 retail stores in the U.S. and Europe. Tesla has announced plans to start selling a new model, called the Model S, early in 2012.
According to Tesla, the Model S is a four-door sedan that will travel up to 300 miles on a single charge. It will retail for around $49,900 if you count the a federal tax credit for electric vehicles.
