SPRING VALLEY, Ariz. -- The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is looking for information on a memorial highway cross that was taken from Highway 69 near Spring Valley, according to a release.

The missing cross was reported by the family of Ayeesha Day. Day was killed following an accident at the highway location in January. She was 16 years old at the time of the accident.

The brass cross was made by students at Mayer High School and has Day's name, birth date and date of death. It is roughly 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide and was taken sometime between July 15 and 18.

The family and Yavapai police are asking for help and information from the public on the cross' whereabouts. Anyone with information can call the Sheriff's Office at (928) 771-3260 or call anonymously to Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232. The incident's case number is 14-025533.
