VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK, Ariz. -- Authorities are searching for a man who attempted to lure two teenage girls as they were walking down a street in the Village of Oak Creek south of Sedona on Wednesday.
The girls, ages 14 and 15, were reportedly walking west on Cortez Drive toward Slide Rock Road shortly before 11 a.m. when a man drove by and whistled at them.
He did a U-turn, pulled up next to the teens and told them they had "nice butts," according to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office. He then asked if they would get in his car and hang out with him.
They said "no" and ran away. The teens told deputies they heard the man saying there was no need to run.
He eventually drove away, heading east on Cortez Drive toward Highway 179, the sheriff's office said.
The suspect is described as a tall and thin white man in his 20s with brown hair and brown eyes. His short hair was slightly spiked in the front and combed forward on the sides. He also had some stubble on his face.
The vehicle is described as a bright blue, newer-model, four-door passenger car with a plastic spoiler and an Arizona license plate. The spoiler was larger than normal and did not have an opening. The license plate was a newer style with seven letters and numbers.
