Woman sought in vehicle burglaries in Mesa

MESA, Ariz. -- Police are searching for a woman in connection with two vehicle burglaries in Mesa.

On Thursday, July 10, a purse was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Children's Safari Learning Center near Southern Avenue and Sossaman Road. A purse and checkbook were also stolen from a vehicle parked about 5 miles away at Countryside Park near Southern Avenue and Val Vista Drive.

A woman was captured on surveillance video reportedly attempting to cash one of the stolen checks at TruWest Credit Union near Roosevelt Street and McDowell Road in Phoenix.

The suspect is described as a white woman with black hair. She was wearing a black tank top and sunglasses on her head.

Witnesses could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
