GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. -- The National Park Service says the storm that brought snow and sleet to Grand Canyon National Park on Friday might have contributed to a fatal crash.

The Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a call around 2:12 p.m. about a two-vehicle collision on South Entrance Road, roughly three miles north of the park's South Entrance Station.

A sedan and pickup truck collided.

The driver and front seat passenger of the sedan were transported to Flagstaff Medical Center with non-critical injuries, but the 24-year-old woman riding in the back seat was killed, according to the National Park Service.

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were reportedly not injured.

Park officials are still investigating the crash but said the winter weather conditions might have been a contributing factor.

An autopsy will be performed by the Coconino County Medical Examiner.
