SAN LUIS, Ariz. – A woman was caught trying to smuggle more than 26 pounds of heroin through the Port of San Luis, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Officers referred Pauline Stephany Calderon-Aguirre, a Mexican national, for additional inspection of her Ford truck on Tuesday.
A K-9 alerted to the presence of drugs and officers removed 13 packages of heroin from within the transmission. The drugs are worth an estimated $360,000.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle.
Calderon was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
