PHOENIX -- The woman accused of kidnapping a 2-year-old boy this week has been arrested in Phoenix, according to a spokesman for the Gila River Indian Community.

After dozens of tips from the public, Anna Marie Johnson, 19, was apprehended by the the Gila River Police Department Thursday night at 10 p.m. at a family member's home.

Police said Johnson was cooperative. She agreed to return to the Gila River Indian Community for an interview, where she was arrested and charged.

The alleged kidnapping of 2-year-old Eric Warrior Smith Jr. triggered an Amber Alert on Tuesday night.

The boy was found safe and unharmed by police early Wednesday morning.

Johnson, the boy's babysitter, currently is being held in the Gila River Indian Community jail on tribal charges of kidnapping and theft of a means of transportation.

Additional tribal charges are pending.

The case also will be submitted to the U.S. Attorney's Office, which could lead to charges in U.S. federal court.
