YUMA, Ariz. -- Yuma police officers have arrested a woman who allegedly drove her father to Mexico after he reportedly fatally shot a man outside a restaurant Sunday night.

Daisy Cortes, 21, was booked into jail Monday for hindering prosecution.

Police said Modesto Cortes-Serrillo, 44, got into a fight with a 43-year-old man inside the Lin's Grand Buffet near 16th Street and Pacific Avenue shortly before 7 p.m.

Witnesses told police the victim ran outside and Cortes-Serrillo shot him multiple times.

Cortes-Serrillo fled the scene in a black 1996 Toyota Camry. Police found it abandoned in San Luis, Ariz.

Sgt. Leanne Worthen said Cortes-Serrillo's daughter drove him to Mexico and then returned to the United States.

Cortes-Serrillo is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Worthen said the name of the victim is being withheld until relatives can be notified.

Police said the men knew each other.
