DOUGLAS, Ariz. -- Sue Krentz, wife of slain Arizona rancher Rob Krentz, remains hospitalized after she and a friend were struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Douglas Saturday night.
The driver of the vehicle, Ramon Parra Saucedo, 74, fled the scene but was apprehended by police a short time later.
A spokesperson from the Cochise County Sheriff's Department said Saucedo is a U.S. citizen and he is currently being held in the county jail. Saucedo is charged with DUI, two counts of endangerment, and two counts of aggravated assault.
Douglas police said Krentz and Shirley Gregory, 79, are in serious condition at University Medical Center in Tucson. They said both women suffered non life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.
Krentz's husband was found dead in March on the couple's land in southeastern Arizona. Authorities believe he was fatally shot by an illegal immigrant possibly connected to a drug-smuggling cartel.
