HEBER-OVERGAARD, Ariz. (AP) -- Firefighters are patrolling, mopping up and restoring areas burned by the Wash Fire near Heber-Overgaard on the Mogollon Rim.
The U.S. Forest Service says the fire is near full containment after burning nearly 2,000 acres in pinion pine and juniper in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Motorists should continue to watch for fire department trucks on the highways and forest roads.
