FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- A wanted Florida sex offender was arrested while traveling through Flagstaff on Friday.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Kevin Leblanc, 52, was wanted by the United States District Court out of Florida for supervised release violation.
Leblanc was charged in 1999 on five counts of rape of a child under 12, one count of lascivious aggravated battery of a child under 12, and has a previous escape from a county jail in New Hampshire. Leblanc was also convicted in 2011 for failure to register under the Adam Walsh Child Safety Protection Act of 2006.
The U.S. Marshals W.A.N.T.E.D Task Force in Flagstaff located and arrested Leblanc walking down Highway 66 in Flagstaff after fleeing from his last known residence in Florida. He will be extradited back to Florida to face his felony charges.
"The public should know that the enforcement of wanted sex offenders is given the highest priority within the Marshals Service," said U.S. Marshal David Gonzales, District of Arizona.
