PHOENIX -- Temperatures around metro Phoenix midafternoon on Wednesday were running in the mid to upper 90s.
That’s below average for this time of year. The average high is 105.
The relatively cool weather won’t last very long. After Thursday, we’ll see a quick warmup into the weekend and early next week, with metro Phoenix highs expected to reach 110 degrees by the middle of next week, if not earlier.
In the meantime, our dry weather will continue. There’s no sign of much monsoonal moisture making it into Arizona over the next seven days.
As a result, even the mountains will see very dry conditions through the forecast period.
Although the weather pattern can change quickly, it’s starting to look like the monsoon may be late “arriving” this year around the Valley.
