PHOENIX -- A US Airways employee died Friday in what police are calling a "horrible tragedy" at Sky Harbor International Airport.
Robert Demarco, 60, was working in a luggage conveyor area in Terminal 4 when he became lodged between the upper and lower conveyor belts of the system, according to Phoenix police Officer James Holmes.
Phoenix Fire Department personnel were called to the area and the victim was pronounced dead.
There are no indications of foul play and it appears to be a tragic accident, Holmes said.
The victim will be examined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office.
Phoenix police detectives are working to determine exactly how and why the accident occurred.
In August, a worker at Sky Harbor had to be rescued after getting pinned in a baggage carousel conveyor belt.
He was working on the baggage carousel when he got his hand and part of his leg pinned in the conveyor belt.
