TUCSON, Ariz. -- Two sisters from Tucson are in big trouble with the law.
On Sunday, a young person called the Tucson Police Department and said she was "Isabel."
Isabel Celis, 6, disappeared from her Tucson home more than three months ago.
Here’s part of what was said during the prank call:
Caller: "Hello?"
Dispatcher: "This is 911. How may I help you?"
Caller: "He's coming."
Dispatcher: "Who's coming?"
(inaudible)
Caller: "He's coming for us. Help me!"
Any sliver of hope that this caller was the missing girl was dashed when police officers found out the call was a prank.
More than two dozen officers responded to the call, looking for Isabel.
What officers found instead of the missing girl were two sisters, ages 9 and 11.
Police said the girls admitted to making the false calls, pretending to be Isabel.
The same day this call was made, Becky Celis, the child’s mother, posted a message on her Facebook page that said, "praying any day now will be the day they call and say you are coming home. god please hear our prayers and bring isa home!!! amen."
Prosecutors with the Pima County attorney's office are deciding if charges should be filed.
The prank call cost the city of Tucson around $4,700.
