SUN CITY, Ariz. -- Detectives with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men this week for allegedly growing marijuana in a Sun City home.

On Wednesday, deputies responded to 11417 West Pinehollow Drive after receiving word that there was a strong odor of marijuana.

MCSO detectives went on to serve a search warrant at the residence and found 48 marijuana plants along with elaborate equipment. The marijuana was estimated to have a street value of $10,000.

Following the search of the home, detectives arrested 50-year-old David Bell and 42-year-old James McGuire.

Both men have medical marijuana cards, but neither Bell nor McGuire had the appropriate card for growing and distributing marijuana.

They are now charged with possession of marijuana, sales of marijuana, and cultivating marijuana.
