GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Glendale Police Department says they’ve arrested two people suspected of committing burglaries at several health clubs across the Valley.

Police said Joseph Meddenhall, 26, and Katlyn Munger, 27, were apprehended Thursday and charged with multiple felony counts of burglary.

Glendale police said they were able to identify Meddenhall and Munger as the suspects thanks to a joint investigative effort with Peoria police detectives.

On Thursday, detectives conducted undercover surveillance at the Valley Racquet and Health Club in Phoenix where Munger was allegedly observed stealing a purse from a locker.

Police said she walked out to the suspect vehicle and Meddenhall took a set of keys from the purse and stole items from the victim’s vehicle.

Detectives continued their surveillance and reportedly saw Munger using the victim’s credit card at a grocery store.

Detectives were able to develop enough probable cause to arrest the duo and took them into custody without incident.

Meddenhall was in possession of a handgun at the time of his arrest, and police said he was also in possession of the firearm earlier in the day during the health club burglary.

Police went on to search a Phoenix residence connected to Meddenhall and Munger and allegedly found several items connected to multiple health club burglaries.

Police said they were able to recover some of the stolen property, and obtained confessions from Meddenhall and Munger.

Meddenhall and Munger have been tied to nearly 20 burglaries, but police said they could be responsible for several more.
