PHOENIX -- Robbery suspects on the run in North Phoenix had neighbors hiding in their homes Friday night.
Phoenix Police say three black men robbed the CashAmerica Super Pawn store at Central and Hatcher.
One carried a gun and ordered everyone inside down on the ground. The other two smashed jewelry cases and grabbed a load of loot.
Police caught up with their SUV, but as officers were arresting one suspect, the other two took off again in the vehicle.
They didn't get far, and crashed at the end of a cul-de-sac in the Sunnyslope neighborhood. At that point, the suspects took off running through yards. One hid in a garage, while another hid in a backyard.
"We were just surrounded by police," said Vicky Hay, who heard one of the men go into her garage and called 911.
She locked herself in her office until police arrived.
Video from the 3TV news helicopter showed officers escorting Hay out, and then moments later taking down the suspect who was hiding at her home.
Police arrested all three suspected robbers, and despite some damage and tense moments, none of the neighbors was hurt.
