TEMPE, Ariz. -- Police are searching for the driver of a pickup truck that hit a bicyclist in Tempe on Memorial Day.

Tempe police spokeswoman Molly Enright said the driver fled the scene after hitting the cyclist on Rural Road just south of Broadway Road shortly after 8 p.m. on May 28.

The cyclist is still hospitalized with serious injuries.

Witnesses said the driver was a male. No other description was provided.

Investigators are asking for the public's help identifying and locating the driver and suspect vehicle, which is described as a late 1990s to early 2000 half-ton pickup truck, possibly an S-10. It was primer gray or dark colored and had a lift kit, oversized wheels and flared vertical exhaust stacks.

Anyone with any information on this collision, the suspect vehicle or the driver is asked to contact the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
